Stunning skyscraper iceberg!

During our trip to the Atlantic Provinces of Canada, we visited Twillingate, Newfoundland. Although it was very late in the "iceberg season", we hoped to see a large, impressive iceberg. We only got to see ONE iceberg - but it was a skyscraper!

For those of you that would like to see a bit more, please watch Justin's video..... HERE......

We were about 3 miles off shore, when I spotted the tip of the iceberg showing above the heavy fog. The iceberg was still about 2 miles away!

#2 As we approached the iceberg, another tour boat was just leaving. I thought it gave an excellent sense of the size of the iceberg. Thankfully the fog was starting to dissipate.

#3 We were able to circle this single iceberg a couple of times while the sun was shining and the scene was clear of fog.

#7 As we were leaving, the fog was again enshrouding the iceberg...

FANTASTIC and your video was very nice. You should post the video on a home-schooling site for teachers to use with their students.

Surely I am not the only one that contemplates carving some turns on that beauty!

Nice photos

So sweet of you! It was, indeed, the highlight of our 5-6 week trip in Maritime Canada! Next time ( I HOPE there is a next time!) I would go at least a couple of weeks earlier....

We were in Twillingate June 29, 2019. It was the very end of the iceberg season and we were very lucky to see anything! You can research the iceberg season on the internet...... We were pulling a 40' 5th wheel with our Ford F350 diesel....and hubby was concerned about going to far north any earlier due to strong storms......
