Sunrise over Smith Inlet in British Columbia --- Nikon D850 with 70-200 f4 @70mm 1/50 Sec. ISO 250. Here the Salmon spawning Nekite River empties out into the Pacific Ocean via this long Fjiord-like inlet. This was our base for watching Grizzlies catching Chum Salmon in Sept. 2018. The only access here is by flying boat !

These are the only 2 flying examples of The Golden Goose Flying Boats left in the world --- both operated as transport across from Vancouver Island to this uninhabited part of the Canadian coast.
Built in 1942, they are lovingly maintained by a dedicated group to ensure their current airworthiness certificates and a great experience to fly in --- The largest version of these Flying boats was the Shorts Sunderland, built in Belfast, used just pre-2nd world war as a clipper taking passengers from England to India in great open cabin style (to compete with the cruise liners of that time ), Later used to great effect as anti submarine patrol planes covering the North Atlantic.
