Telephoto Lens ‘That Has Never Existed Before’?

Maybe it will be the first lens designed using this formula for an aberration free lens:

It will be very interesting to see what they do. If it is truly revolutionary, Nikon may be shooting themselves in the foot for not allowing Sigma to produce Z mount lenses. If it is just the right lens, some Nikon users (myself included) may jump ship to Canon or Sony to use it.
They already had 200-500 F2.8 before, why to step down? :)
Only superman can handhold Sigma's 200-500mm F:2.8.
 
According to Yamaki San, Sigma CEO, in his answers in interview “Yes, so sports photographers and wildlife photographers might be very excited about the lens.”

Interesting, for years it was pointed out that aftermarket lenses are cheap consumer plastic type lenses, and Nikon was made in Japan for quality reasons, and their lenses would last for years, yet Sigma has always been made in Japan, Nikon lenses and cameras in whole or in parts to be assembled in Thailand today are nearly all made in China.

I think a 100-400 F2 F2..8 Light and compact, a 200-500 like Steve says in F4 really sounds good as long as its small and light.

When walking around anywhere often a Zoom really fits the bill, it would be great if it has the performance of a F2, F2.8, or F4 to boot.

Friday I did a walk through the ACT botanical gardens in the rain forest section, Z8 50mm 1.8, was all I had with me, it worked well, I wish I had brought a zoom, at least the 70-200 or 28- 300- or 28- 400 or a 100-400.
Digressing the only thing I noticed was the battery life was incredibly short, and the bottom left corner of the body was extremely hot for no cause by me.
A colleague was using a Fuji, with a large flash and mini soft box, all hand held, he had a 50mm lens.

28-400 with a F2.8 or even F4 would be lovely.
Remember Sigma says its never been done before.

LOL! A soft woman's voice exudes from the lens, "Autofocus detects a bird. Are you sure you want to have the aperture at f11?"
"To request help, press Menu. To change ISO, press ISO and turn the wheel. To change... " - <20 other options>. And at the very end, after waiting for all options for 5 minutes - "To change aperture, rotate the front wheel". After rotation - "Are you sure? Yes or No? To cancel, press Menu, to confirm, press Ok". And no way to press anything until voice stops.
 
I would like it to have an audio feature that reminds me to CHECK MY SETTINGS frequently enough to keep me shooting but not so frequent as to become annoying!
Like having your camera say this?

Key parameters for possible super telephotos covering the frequently preferred range of focal lengths and lens speeds.

The weight is an informed guess, obviously. This is taking into account the trends over the past 3 decades by Nikon to build lighter exotic telephotos, and the features and innovations of current designs for guidance. Some of the materials and designs to reduce weight of an exotic telephoto include special glass of a high refractive index including fluorite; honeycombed chassis, lighter polymers (e.g. Seerebo, Mg plastics); novel optical designs (e.g. rear elements of the 400mm f4.5S).

A telephoto with an integral Dual-Teleconverter has not been produced, but it must be feasible and optical engineers have probably considered such a design. A dual TC could possibly share some of the elements, optimized in a 3 stage mechanism.
