I'd have to look to jolt my memory; I didn't even get so far as paying my deposit before bailing due to the virus. Now trying to weigh putting down non refundable deposits for a couple of trips autumn 2021....Thanks Steven---would you have been staying at Great Bear Lodge .
Thanks Tadzio, glad you enjoyed them !Fantastic series David

The good outcome is I used the trip money saved to buy the new cam and fat lensKnow the feeling Steven, I got a full refund for this year's Polar trip and am hoping to try again next July !! --- but its not certain .
Sounds like a very senible redeployment of funds to me !The good outcome is I used the trip money saved to buy the new cam and fat lens
I had hoped to see more Black bears myself, but only got a snapshot of a couple disappearing into the undergrowth --- however getting Grizzlies more than compensated for any disappointment.Wwaoooo look at the claws on those young cubs
I`ve saw some black bears in Canada but never Grizzlies , they truly are an Awesome animal
Thanks Carson for pointing that out ---- the cub was about 75 metres across the river from my camera stand and it was difficult to get a shot without some of the stones intruding , however it might be possible to darken them in post edit so that they shouldn't distrract the eye from the cub itself---food for thought for the future !With the last shot of the cub the viewer's eye is drawn to the bright white rocks which is what we do when a picture has a very bright area within the frame. Something to be aware of when out in the field.
Very nice.View attachment 7909
Being Shown The Ropes --- Mother points out the tastier treats---salmon brains are very nutritious . In a large Salmon run with many fish the bears will go for the brains and eyes first [ unless, of course, it is a gravid female, in which case eggs are the best ! ] The fish skin is number 3 on the menu, so inevitably there is a huge amount of remains left to benefit the attendant scavengers. ISO 200.
