Here are a few of my favorite images of the African Leopard.
Golden hour ascent
6.19am and the 3 yr old male leopard known as Moyo climbs a tree to a beautiful golden hour sunrise,
opportunities like this happen very rarely and was thrilled to capture him in such an iconic pose and soft golden light.

Early Golden Hour and a big male Leopard called Olaro poses supremely as he strides confidently across the Lamai plains.

Leopard scout
I was most fortunate for this image to be honored with 2nd place in "Nature's Best" African Landscapes category 2018.
High atop Soit Le Montonyi (Vultures Rock) in Tanzania's Serengeti NP, a female leopard stepped out of her lair. Having just nursed and fed her two 8-week old cubs, she paused on her elevated platform as if to ponder another beautiful sunset in the Serengeti.
She was born here.
Subsequently the safety of the same rock had proved to be an appropriate birth place and den site for her two cubs.
Having seen her more than once at this very spot over a 14 day period, I waited for a night with partial cloud so that the sunset would cast its heavenly rays to enhance her descending silhouette.
Opportunities like this rarely present themselves, so I was extremely grateful for the stars to align on this particular evening.

Taking the trunk route
A Leopardess known as Furaha descends a giant baobab. The structure of these unique upside down trees enables plenty of toe-holds for these agile skilled climbers. Note the damage to the base here, caused by Ele's stripping the outer layers. I love the way this back view gives such a clear look at the straining muscles and varying skin patterns. in her rock-wall like descent.

A male leopard returns to his beautiful Rock Fig tree home and his prized baby zebra kill.

Early morning with the first rays of light penetrating, a leopardess on the shoulder of the track is out stalking a small herd of Impala.
