This guy is good. Simon d'Entremont

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I watched the first one. Accurate and complete basic information on histograms, good pace and friendly. Subscribed.

Agreed, he's very practical and thorough. I think if I were a total beginner, I would have a hard time keeping up and would have to watch each video several times over the course of a few photo sessions to continue learning from the content.

BCG videos on the other hand spend a little bit more time letting the message sink in, so for a beginner I think are more accessible.

Different approach, but I haven't heard him say anything bogus yet! He also covers more than wildlife photography to a degree, which is a plus.

Hi everyone and thanks so much.

Simon…

Thank you for sharing your skills and passion in your excellent YouTube channel (link).

I watch, and hopefully learn from, every video posted.

Hi everyone and thanks so much. A friend of mine alerted me to this conversation, and I’m so pleased to see you all enjoy it and learn something from it. I’m just trying to follow in the great big footsteps of Steve, who’s taught us all so much.

Thank you for the quality of your videos Simon. I had never heard of you before the lead post by @Feiertag. I spent the last hour watching your videos. I enjoyed every one of them and have subscribed to your channel. It speaks well of Steve that he welcomes such information on "his" forum. He has made this such a wonderful open and educational place. Thank you for becoming part of it.

I started watching Simon in late fall and he reignited my passion for wildlife photography.
I watch 3 wildlife photography YouTubers
Steve (of course) for Nikon tips and long in-depth analysis videos
Simon, because he gives me this good vibe of old-school intellectual, there are not enough such people on the modern-day internet.
Duade Paton, who gives this vibe of an older friend who is passionate about something.

I'm happy to hear that someone advised you of this thread. Welcome, Simon.
In 2015 of December I had the pleasure of bumping into the Editor In Chief at Nova Scotia Bird Society, Alix d'Entremont. I'm assuming that Alix is a relative of yours?
We were both looking for Snowy Owls at Cape Sable Island on Daniels Head.
I'm hoping one day you will have an instructional video on filming wildlife. I can't find anything on the web regarding this category. BTW, keep up the good work.

First, I want to send a warm welcome to Simon - hope to see you around here ;)

Honestly, I'd like nothing better than for this forum to be the "go-to" place for people like Simon (or Mark Smith, or Matt K, or Thom Hogan, etc). Can you imagine how much that would boost interest here and how much more information we could share? IMO, competition by keeping "competitors" at bay doesn't work on the internet - collaboration is far more powerful and benefits everyone involved.
