This Old House

This old house is near the Susquehanna River in southcentral Pennsylvania. I particularly liked the moss and vines on the front contrasting with the bare weathered siding on the gable end.

Woody - nice ambiance and mood! The patina created by the moss /fungus contrast beautifully with the upper, left beige of the wood. Not an image I would ever see down here in SA. You guys are so fortunate with the barns and buildings all over your country!

Several years ago I wrote a post for my blog titled "The Stories They Could Tell" about houses like this. I've always wondered why each one was abandoned and how long ago that was.
