You're either hitting the joystick, or you're moving it from the back screen.

Yes, I had this issue and it went away when I disabled the f4 touch function. I actually think my nose touching the screen was moving the focus point.

I tend to agree with Camron on this - it's probably something inadvertent. I have it happen to me as well, I have the OK button programmed to pop it back to center.

I think there is also a touch screen command that turns this feature off and on. I do not have my camera in front of me so I cannot tell you for certain, but look at the icons displayed on the rear monitor.

Another possible mistake with modern ILC's is easy to make.... If the exposure varies wildly between frames, check if Exposure Bracketing has been left on.
This can be disconcerting if you react to an unexpected event without prechecking settings. In the heat of the moment.... reviewing a burst of images... it can take a second, or longer, to recognize the problem

I confirm what @janzin said, and it works for the Z6III, too. I simply assigned the grid to a button, and it switches the grid on / off. Arguably, there aren't too many of them.
