Wally the walrus

A walrus is not something you would expect to see outside the Arctic, this guy turned up at the small seaside town of Tenby in south-west Wales, UK. As you can probably imagine, he/she created quite a stir with the locals when he/she hauled-out onto the launch ramp of the lifeboat station on a few occasions. This animal was also spotted off Spain, Cornwall and southern Ireland.

Nice image. It probably won't survive in the warmer water, but there are always individual animals of many species that wander far outside of their normal range.
