George this is really an excellent image. The bloom absolutely glows. Really well done.
If you can do this sort of work with the 100-400 then owning that 400 2.8 makes no sense at all. If you'd like to sell it to someone in need drop me a PM.

Seriously the 100-400 is perfect for this kind of stuff, dragonflies, butterflies etc I really like the lens a lot!!
