What’s your photo editing workspace like?

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I am a couch surfer

You don't want to see my workspace. I have a dedicated room in my house with my stuff in it along with a very cluttered desk, tons of old tax returns that are more than 10-years old and need to be shredded. Boxes of crayons and pencils that my grandchildren have outgrown. But, as long as I can plug in my cfexpress card reader, I'm good to go. I have hard drives connected to my computer all over so I can keep photos in at least duplicate, just in case. One day I'm asking my daughter about Google Cloud to back them up. Or, a hard drive server if all this new photo equipment wouldn't keep eating up my money. *Note. I come from a long line of packrats. When my dad passed away we cleared out receipts for tires he had bought for cars he no longer owned. My husband tries to keep me and my packratness in line. He understands it's hereditary. 😄

I have a Mac Studio w/ an OWC 4 bay thunderday 4 enclose. 2 27" monitor (I had a smaller one before but found I did not like have different resolutions especially when I move windows from one monitor to the other)

Excuse the mess, the story of my life. I organize and the suddenly it is a mess. Hence my license plate - NTRPY for entropy

Your desk looks like mine! (Except I think mine's a bit worse.)

cool - You have a landline telephone still - I don't think anyone I know use those anymore. Only people in offices

I can't remember the last time I used it. My wife retired from the phone company and our line if half off. The office comment is even more true; the handset is connected to a Cisco Call Manager phone system that I got from my time as a Collaboration Specialist at Cisco Systems. I had a home office for many years.

When we built our house in 2011, we built one room as a home office for the farm that would work with my photography. Should have put in many more cabinets but I do have a big gun safe where I store my lenses. (not shown). Desk was built in with granite desk tops.

Who did the game in Highlights Magazine to find things in a picture. I'll just point some things out here.
Mac OS Sonoma has some really great moving wallpaper/screensavers. I love the sharks and whales. Yes they move. Check them out.
The monitor is a BenQ SW321C and I love this monitor. The detail always amazes me.
Underneath the Sonos Five is my unseen OWC Thunderbolt Pro dock which I don't recommend, but it does have my 10gb ethernet port to my NAS and it has a fast CFe card reader but it does get hot so I don't leave my cards in long.
In the bottom left corner you will see a picture of my father who played in the Orchestra pit of 28 Academy Awards. I still get a small amount of royalties from his work and I always buy camera gear with it because I got my first camera in 9th grade when my parents refused my request for a motorcycle.
The colored rocks in the crystal are a reminder that my wife's great grandfather, Richard Wetherill, discovered Mesa Verde National Park.
Sitting on the base of the BenQ is a Blackberry 8700. I was a forum moderator back in the day, and my tips were passed around the Pentagon, which greatly amused me at the time.
Of course really all this is a great obstacle course for my two Bengal cats.

So there you have your Highlights Magazine for the day.

Cable management is not my strength. Sometimes I change the mood but I never edit with the lights on; only to watch tv. Still searching for the chair.

Wow, beautiful setup! I’d be very happy in this space. Love your little camera display and found bones!

Ok. My space is 99% of the time, a mess. But, the only thing that matters to me is the work that comes off my computer. As long as it's great, I don't give much thought to the "workspace". I'm comfortable in it. It's like an old pair of slippers for me. 😁

Having just been through a 6 month remodel which meant zero time in the field, the work and storage spaces are presentable. I usually have them organized but not this clean. I just returned from Churchill as a kick off trip to the next 10 years of travel - before another remodel or move or whatever. My son helped me build the computer from Origin. No idea on specs just grateful to have something upgradable as time goes on. I sure have enjoyed seeing other's workspace.

Now that’s a space I could live in! Beautiful!

Here is my office for work and all apple computers are for photography. I spend a lot of time in this office! Fortunately outside my windows I built a pollinator garden and have bees, butterfly’s, hummingbirds and song birds hitting the feeders, baths and flowers.
