So after reading all the replies and watching the videos here is my take on equipment. I shot marksmanship matchs for years at a very high level. Most rifles I used I was capable of more than the rifle. I own 2 rifles that are capable of more than me. I believe that most of the hobbyist photographers and probably half of the professionals owned equipment is capable of more than them. I know my D500 can do things that I have never used and things that I use daily but am not an expert at using. I believe most of us are in that category. I still read about and lust after the latest greatest equipment. Not sure why. Lol. Haven't mastered what I own. I also cut gemstones. I started with a older machine. I cut at the grand master level. I purchased my next machine from Glenn Klein. A world champion cutter. I have not bought the latest greatest faceting machine because if the machine I cut on is capable of producing some of the best in the world will a new machine make me a better cutter? Probably not. I feel into the trap until I bought my D500. I owned a D7100 and D7200 before that. They both were capable of more than me but I had not yet leatned enough to understand that. Lol. So hear is my suggestion. Have fun enjoy yourself and do what makes you happy. Just remember the latest greatest equipment is probably not what is holding you back as far as picture quality. Lol. My 3 cents due to inflation.
