When is a NEF a NEF?

I was trying out HE* at Magic Hedge yesterday. One thing I discovered is Nikon's HE* files are NEF files just like lossless compressed. HE* file sizes were 32 to 36 MB and lossless compressed files are 52 to 55 MB. Other than looking at file sizes, is there a way to tell HE* compressed raw files from lossless compressed?
HE* at ISO 3600 cropped quite a bit, Z9 + 100-400 Z Zoom, 1/1000, f5.6, handheld:

You can only see EXIF info for this image if you are logged in.

Did you look in the metadata module, right column of library module. If it is there hidden deep, the order of the display can be altered to bring it to the top of the list.
