Yes, thanks - the colored bird is the baby and it is with its parents. They were an inseparable trio for the few days I was able to observe them.A beautiful crane,and a sub-adult? too! (s)He is actually quite a looker!
We Ottawans like hot more than cold! Anyway, these birds were by the coast.Nice shot, Ed. I never got back into the hill country much to see them when I lived there. I could mostly be found floating on a tube in the cold spring water in San Marcos. If you've never done that you should try it once, I bet you'd love it.
