Thanks, it was pitch dark out and right around 0 degrees out. I really wanted the Milky-way to be just to the left of the Geyser but I didn't want to hang around for another 90 minutes to try again.

I know Yellowstone is very good about cutting down light pollution but the fact that you were able to get so many stairs on the third photo is amazing. During the winter are there less light on at the lodge then during the summer?

It was pitch black. The Yellowstone Inn is closed in the winter.

Thank you so much. When I took it I didn't know how the Geyser would turn out without any light. The moon wasn't up.
