Z7 DX Mode

Thinking out loud here......

Is there any difference switching my Z7 to DX mode (for that extra reach) vs. leaving it in FX mode and cropping in post?

Nope. None at all.

For me I guess the only advantage is some magnification during shooting in the EVF and the minor advantage of smaller file size. I have a D7200 (newly adopted by my girlfriend), a Z50, and a Z6. I'm looking for excuses to not sell my Z50 (haha, I love that little guy) after upgrading to the Z6, and mainly - when I need the virtual reach with my 70-300, I'm getting a higher quality image from my APS-C Z50 vs. being Dx mode in my Z6. 20 megapixels vs. 10, roughly?

My 70-300 AF-P is super, but it's my only long lens at the moment. I'm planning on acquiring the upcoming Z 200-600 someday. Steve I'll read your article above, thanks!
