Z8 freeze

This happened once to me recently on the Z8 and once to my husband also on a Z8. Both using Delkin Black cards. The battery removal fixed it and no shots were lost (except the ones I might have caught when I had to pause to remove the battery.) I believe I was shooting 20FPS at the time, but it has not happened again under the same circumstances.

It seems like some users have issues with freezes and others have no issues with freezes. I had one freeze with my Z9 almost two years and several firmware updates ago . It was at a time when the file number maxed at 9999 and had to roll over and when the folder maxed at 5000 images and had to create a new folder. I did not lose any images but I did have different images with the same file name.

I was shooting an event yesterday and had a strange issue with my Z9. I had taken over 5000 images for the day when I had a lockup, the viewfinder worked but I could not take any photos or access any menus, I powered the camera off, it took about 10 seconds to power down, I powered the camera...

I wonder if freezes and lockups could also be related to how we use our cards. I usually shoot an event of maybe 2000 images, upload the images using a card reader, then full format the card in camera before the next outing. I know we all have slightly different procedures to offload our images and reuse a card and that could play some roll in lockups and freezes.
