Z8 setting / User error?

I have a problem - I assume it's a setting or user error - could someone perhaps point me in the right direction?

I focus and take a photo
the view in the viewfinder keeps that image I just shot visible in the viewfinder for approx 10 seconds before that fixed image disappears and I have an active real time view again - Unless
I press the shutter button again to focus

Under Playback Menu, turn Picture Review "OFF" and you won't get a display of the image after the shot. There is also an option to show the image only when you're using the monitor, not when you're using the viewfinder.

Sounds like picture review is on in the playback menu. See page 213 of the Z8 Reference Guide. You can turn it off.
