Z9 Live View problem

When using the Z9, in camera mode, the Live View is black. Live View, in video mode, shows the scene being viewed. I tried toggling through the three options for viewing the image, by using the button on the left side of the viewfinder, and cleaning the viewfinder sensor with no luck. When I press the 'i' or "menu" button the LED screen works. I'm baffled on how to resolve this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced.

Offhand, I'd check under the Tools Menu > Limit monitor mode selection and make sure you have Automatic Display Switch or Monitor Only enabled as an option.
