Happy with D500. I have a D5600 for travel.
I'm interested in FX and mirrorless, however other than my 200-500, most of my lenses are DX.
I'm thinking about getting a Z6 (or Z6s when it comes out)

Right now, my 600mm F4 and 500mm PF inspire me to stay with Nikon DSLRs. I'm afraid that if I told her I was replacing those, my wife would leave me. Even though we both know it's likely to happen one day, we haven't discussed it yet and I don't like to think about it 'cause I'm really gonna miss her.
hahaahahhahaha... NICELY done Sir!

Never say never, I did when digital first came along, I was always going to stick to film, like a lot of others. However mirrorless is out of my price range at the moment, that's the frustration.

I started out Pentax and developed all my own B&W for my local camera club in Scotland but was always a birdwatcher. BIG GAP, and then I started with a D70s put my boys on to D70S and D40 + gave my D70S to my daughter in law with 18-55 bought a D5100 moved on to a D7100 as well and now have a D500 which I dearly love and a new D750 which is just fantastic. My newly acquired 500PF and 24-85 is all I need for now I see no real attraction for mirrorless as I am a happy guy with my DSLRS but a wiser person than me said "never say never" and since I am old I use Gitzo everything as well as RRS bits and Wimberley. Isn't life just great?

I've had Sony mirrorless cameras for quite awhile now, for various uses, but when I started getting more into wildlife photography, I picked up Nikon. The new Canon mirrorless bodies look to be quite capable, but I am very interested in the 500 PF and nobody has anything quite like it; and I am happy with the D850(even though i am still learning how to get good results out of the high mp camera). At some point, I think we won't have any choice but to go full mirrorless.

D7500 and Z6. If it wasn't for my wildlife needs like reach of DX and focus tracking of moving birds I would switch to mirrorless completely. I just love working with the mirrorless camera - much easier when I can see everything I need to see in the EVF. Plus, it's smaller and lighter. What's not to like?

With the Z6 I can go and do shooting for hours without having to bother with my reading glasses. Not so with the DSLR.

I'm shooting both but if they add improved focus tracking, a higher frame rate and some neat AI tricks and I'll be going full M (if I can actually find one to buy). I've used my Z7 enough now that I'm using it more than my beloved old D500. I'll take 60mp as handy for BIF crops but otherwise don't really care.

SnapBridge is even worse than my Prius's Entune software 'tho not by much.

I'd also love to see some Sigma S primes if they challenge the Nikon primes the way their current F primes do.

As a Nikon shooter since 1969 I hope Nikon winds up being financially stable enough to once again build high end cameras and accessories that solve modern real world problems.

I’m not sure I’ll go mirrorless any time soon. I like the feel of a DSLR. I like the OVF. I like the sound of the mirror slapping the mirror box for the exposure. I like the DSLR experience. In fact I’ve already prepped my bride that I'm looking at another DSLR........ Looking back on that I probably shouldn’t have mentioned it when she wasn’t feeling well..... Now I need a plan B. 😁

I recently purchased a Z6, though I’m only using it with the 14-30 lens for my real estate photography side hustle. Otherwise 99% of my photography is birds and I’m using a D500 and the 500 PF. At this time I prefer a DSLR, but it’s fun dipping my toes into the mirrorless world.

Ironically the Canon 7d11, made me buy a D500 coupled with a 500pf is a great set up.
However I love my Canon 500f4 and it would be great to be able to fit the Nikon D500 on it.
So maybe a R5 in the future but I’m not fully sold on mirrorless as there seems to be still some glitches to over come for Wildlife shooting and at over £4000......
Having a foot in both camps has its own trials and tribulations.
If Nikon comes up with a Z? as good or better than the R5 (doesn’t need to have video for me ) I might sell all my Canon gear and firmly stand in the Nikon camp.

I shoot with both a D500 and a Z6--as one reader posted, I basically use the Z6 for non-moving or slow-moving subjects. Love the Z mount lenses when paired with the Z6 but as a wildlife shooter (primarily birds), the Z6 just can't handle the action like the D500 can. If Nikon comes out with a mirrorless that matches Sony's MP/frame rate/focusing speed, I'll consider going full mirrorless--got too much invested in Nikon gear to switch to another maker (Sony/Canon).
