If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I have a Z8 in-hand and will be holding a live stream this afternoon where you can ask questions. In fact, we're prioritizing BCG members so ASK YOUR QUESTIONS on this thread and we'll do our best to add them to the discussion!

Live stream is at 2:00 PM today (eastern time)

1) Battery life with the smaller battery powering bigger glass like the 800pf is the AF slower to fly from end to end?

2) How is muscle memory going from Z9 to Z8, Can I pick up a Z8 and fly it right away or is it any different.

3) How do you feel, is it truly a Z9 just smaller?

4) How many real life seconds (while at a job) would it take to swap the battery?

5) possible to Save/Load across Z9/Z8 or I have to setup from scratch?

6) Can I fit a Z9 after market eye cup on the Z8

7) Has Nikon improved on the Z8 design that they are not taking about?

8) Can the Z8 replace the Z7ii for Macro, Products, landscaping? Or I should hang on to the Z7ii for any reason.

Thanks

What can we expect with only one battery (I mean without grip ?).
With D850 I can take near a whole day of shooting (means 2000, 3000 shot) with one battery when GPS, and all other external communication system are shutdown).
But Z8 has at least viewfinder more than D850 to supply.

totally based on extrapolation, 40% of a z9, which is about 5hrs continuous power-on, so we can expect about 2hrs. how that pans out in the real world depends on how you shoot.

Which camera would make more sense for general travel photography (no wildlife), Z7II or Z8? Lens would be 24-120 f/4.
Thanks.

How is the quality of images with the DX Crop mode? (I'm a D500 user, I'm used to getting that 1.5x advantage.)

How is the ease of use switching from FX to DX modes?

How well does the FTZ II adapter work with the 500mm PF lens on the Z8?

Approximately, how mush LESS battery time might I expect to get using an EL-EN15b battery (from my D500) instead of the Z8's preferred EN-EL15c battery?

How fast & accurate is the AF with BIF? Does it hold the eye well, with fast-moving subjects? (I thought I've heard that the Z9 didn't lock-on as strongly as some photographers expected it to.)

How easy is it to use the GPS capabilities with the Snapbridge app?

How is the image stabilization for stills and/or video? (e.g., Can I take handheld videos that look as good as if I were using a tripod?)

Is the LCD viewfinder fully articulated like a D5600?

Thanks for the info.

Other than the GPS question, the answer to all of those is exactly the same as the Z9. So all well known quantities.
