appreachate ya'll..

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

Agreed! And I am continually thinking, "once COVID allows I've got to look these people
Just let me know! (Like anybody else) we’re living in La Brenne in France right now with a wealth of Birds and Wildlife.

All I know is that I'm blown away with all the kind, knowledgeable people who post here. When we started this, we were concerned about - and even expected - troublemakers, but that really hasn't been the case. In fact, I think there has been only four or five reported posts since with start this a few months back! That's unbelievable to me. I think this forum hit the jackpot with great members and I'll do my best to keep it that way as it grows.
If you ever need help just let me know Steve! I’m a mod overhere for a +45K members forum. (Since 1998)

What was your point about troublemakers, Steve? :ROFLMAO:

Present! LOL

Sorry I really have to watch those quite parts.... Oh Behave.... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

DON’T! (We know you by now) LOL

I am picky about the forums that I join as I want to enjoy my time reading and writing with other members and don't need more drama in my life. There are about four or five where I am active, and all are reasonably small by internet standards and have a welcoming feeling where members can get to know each other. I suspect that this will stay this way now that the initial forum membership has been settled in and Steve has set a great "tone at the top". Forums like this are a great antidote to a lot of social media sites (which I prefer to avoid as much as possible).

Thanks,

--Ken

Well said Ken... couldn’t agree more.

Gordon, as with your photos, very well done! Complete agreement with all the positive feedback, comments & the inspiration that so many of you provide! For a “younger” photographer like myself (in terms of photography experience) it is immensely helpful to be guided along with techniques & absolutely marvelous examples. The best thing is the complete welcoming inclusion from all the talented photographers on the board. I also sincerely thank you!

Bill your Very welcome... and I’m glad you’re a member of the board... I know when I started I was very intimidated about posting any of my photos... so I spent a LOT of time just lurking from the background... I commend anyone that is willing to put themselves out there in an effort to get better. so kudos to you and I encourage anyone to not be afraid of putting themselves in the spot light Here. We have a fantastic group of people... and I recommend buying Steve’s books and watch every video he has... they all have useful info even if you think it doesn’t or won’t apply to you. ( I sound like a salesman there but Steve content Really is fantastic... )

Interestingly, the main reason I joined this forum was Steve's books and YT videos. They are honest and direct and I've learned an amazing amount from him. Being
a relatively new Nikon user, I needed all the help I could get with my equipment. :) So I figured if it was Steve's forum it had to be good. I was not wrong. Thanks to
all. (y)(y)(y)

Well said!

I've been thinking lately how much fun this site and has been for me and how much I enjoy the people here... and of course the things I have personally learned. I can honestly say that I would enjoy shooting with the majority of the posters on this site... ( I find that to be incredibly rare) Hopefully someday some of us will have the opportunity to do this after the Craziness that is 2020 has faded into the rear view mirror.

So to each and everyone I simply say... Stay safe, and hopefully our paths continue to cross.
Agree Gordon, Steve has instigated a great site for all of us.
I personally have been helped as well as learning a great deal from a group of very knowledgeable people.
The site is not only friendly with good hearted banter but a great store for future reference information.
Of course non of this would be without the kind group of folks participating.
Cheerz all,stay safe.

Well said and greatly appreciated Gordon...👌👌👌 This forum is indeed very unique with members across continents who not only try to help, assist and critique but also give detailed justifications for their arguments. I personally have learnt a great lot especially from Steve and to also mention Dave ( @DRwyoming ) who almost on a regular basis gives terrific detailed insights into various photography techniques. We have a fabulous bunch of people here and sincerely hope to meet you'll some day after this COVID madness is over. A big Thank You to Steve & Rose for setting up and moderating this wonderful forum. 🙏🙏🙏

Very well put Gordon,
I am fairly new to the Forum [August 2020], and I certainly agree with all the points made.
A great platform for learning and sharing experiences . well done to Steve and Rose for setting this up ,and ,guiding and moderating.
Wonderful to see people from all over the world participating in a common interest and passion for photography.

Perfectly agree on all I've read here. I am a strong SNophobic (SN = Social Networks), because the percentage of people not knowng how to behave seem to be constantly growing there. So this forum here has become one of the little "paradises" where people like me - i.e. white-haired, analogue-minded relics with a preference for topic-focused, respectful communication - find a niche for having fun with real nice people from all over the world, learning from them as well as sharing own experiences with them without all this hate and bashing that seems to become more and more normal out there in the net.

Even if I repeat myself, a big thank you to @Steve of course, but also to every single person that I happened to interact with since joining this forum.
Let's hope it can be kept the way it is today ...

This site is an exception and is exceptional. It an exception because the posts are respectful of others even where the opinions may not be the same. I think the tone was set by Steve's videos long before the the forums were opened. It is exceptional for the knowledge that everyone is willing to share. I don't read as much here as I would like but I am constantly learning from the wisdom of others. I rarely post as others are more knowledgeable and eloquent than I. To Steve, thank you for establishing the forums. To those posting and just reading, thank you for making this a great place to spend some time. Now I need to quite typing and go use what I have learned here.
