Thanks Ralph, It does slow up the AF a bit, but it is still sharp.Great shot Ira! Would never know you used a tc especially with all the negatives about tc and 500pf.

Its all about sharpness with me. I can deal with the slower focusing. I’ve been trying to buy one for months but everyone has them on back order. So I just ordered one with Nikon and will wait it out. No real urgency.

The first eagle shot I used a D5 an my 600mm F:4G VR, the second shot I used my D600 and 200-500 F:5.6G VR, the third shot I used my Sigma 800mm F:5.6 AF and my D2Xs, the fourth shot I used my 800mm F:5.6 AF and my D3 and the fifth shot I used my 600mm F:4G VR and my D810. I did not used a TC on any of the shots. But now I'm using the D3s on the 600mm and results are stunning

3 from Sept. Nova Scotia. D500, Gannet and Kestrel is with 300pf and 1.4tc, Cormorant with 500pf. TFL, Richard

Thank you for the comment. The Northern Harrier is one of my favorites to photograph, especially when they are working a field. Oh, and the D850 / 500 PF tracks and locks on very well.
