Out of curiosity how many people have you seen do lasik after the procedure (when the eyes are fully healed) to take care of the residual correction for astigmatism and (for many) minor farsightedness?

Not many. You can get very close to good vision with present day calculations. If you end up with 20/40 vision or better you really don’t need anything else.
