A lot of Accipiter activity at our bird feeders the last few days. Thursday morning a Juvenile sharpie dropped down and took one of my sparrows while I was watching them from my popup blind. They all need to eat though.
Just this afternoon, I was going to fill the bird feeders and this Adult Coop landed in the brush and was looking for dinner so I grabbed the camera.
Not a wall hanger but still a cool Cooper's Hawk staring out of the brush.

This one was posted on another thread a while ago but fits here as well.
This Osprey landed in a dead tree not more than 15 feet away from me. This was also the cover picture on the 2020 Wyoming Wildlife magazine photo issue.

Congratulations on the cover shot, well deserved for an absolutely amazing closeup. (y)

There have been occasions when for one reason or another I have not been able to fit the subject fully in the frame, so a cropped head shot seemed to be a good answer. I thought this might make an interesting thread so share your portraits.
This is such a shot taken recently at Bempton Cliffs NE Yorkshire, Britain .
