@Callie He's a colourful little devil :love:
Thanks ruley74.
I feel really fortunate to be in an area in England that has some great locations for seeing Kingfishers on a regular basis.
Their mortality rate here in England is something like 70% so when I see one when I’m out I feel totally privileged because they are an absolutely beautiful bird & the blue is even more mesmerising when you see one up close.

This is the Kingfisher you will find in Europe. The 3 pics below where taken in The Netherlands, at different places. It took a lot of effort and patience to get pics like this ;)

Thought it'd be a good idea to see how many of the Kingfisher varieties we can collectively gather. Like a lot of people I find them amazing!

Please ensure you provide the correct name with the photo for collection

Here in Alberta, Canada we have the Belted variety (Others have posted it before, but thought I'd add/share my attempts at photos anyway because it's fun!). These are very armature compared to most of the previous posts. Thanks for sharing them all by the way!
Definitely have been finding it challenging to get near them here. A hide of some sort would be best if you want great shots I think. This is probably the most shy bird species I've personally encountered so far.
