Hi Armin,

"For me", the Z7II worked quite well with big glass.

Amazing shots Phil, keep it up. I just ordered a Nikon Z7II to pair with my 500mm F4 VR, Also own (up for sale) a D850

Thanks Armin.
I belive you'll enjoy the Z7II. I too, had a D850. For pure action, the D850 has better AF but there are many features on in the Z7II that helped me never look back - not to mention the weight.

No issues with my 500 mm F4 G with either the Z7 (sold) or Z7II. Here is one with the TC-14E III teleconverter on for a effective 700 mm.

Never used any Z body for bird-in-flight, used a D4s for that. Now that camera is gone and I'm anxiously awaiting my Z9.

Great shot. Well my ZII arrived yesterday evening and I will put it to the test this afternoon at my local marsh area, Cant wait to try it out.
I know its not the same as my D850 but i see that mirrorles is the way foreward.
I mainly shoot birds (no fast action) so i think the Z7II will be just fine.
another thing I didnt like of my D850 was that it was way too loud when pressing the shutter, any wildlife that came reasonable close was scared of by the sound of the shutter and have missed a lot of shots....

No problem - this is with the Z7ii, FTZ, 600 f/4 AF VR, and the TC14E III teleconverter. The camera held focus as the bird flew through a cornfield and landed.
