EDIT: Bought a Nikon battery
Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of good 3rd-party battery/dual charger brands? I'm looking for a spare battery for my Z9.
Or, is it just worth the extra 40-50% cost to buy first-party?
Thanks.
I am in a "tough" spot right now. First world problems. I have GAS pretty bad so I am always buying new gear I have a really nice Nikon setup right now and am trying to decide if I want to stick it out or move to an R5 or a A7RV. I know it might sound kind of dumb but that's just how my brain...
I was at a breeding spot of the great cormorant in Türkiye this week with literally over a thousand cormorants busy making nests.
So, out came the Z8 with the 600mm PF to practise on BIF and pretty happy with the result.

I just started using the 600pf so I doubt very much if I'd ever purchase the f/4 version. BUT, I would love to experience the f/4 in different situations so I can get a feel for if/when I'd rent it for different trips. Lots of options for renting the big dog so I'm curious as to how much I...
3 Sub-Adult Leopard siblings on the verge of separation. Still trying to hone their hunting skills. 2 seen here. 1 was hiding in the bush.

Basically, pending EU trade law will restrict sales of electronic devices, reliant on an internal battery, to only those that can be charged internally via USB-C (ie Power Delivery). Basically, this means cameras can only be sold if they can charged with a plug in USB-C PD cable. Several current...
Hi, all. Two months ago I jumped from Sony to Nikon for a number of reasons, lens selection being the primary reason.
The ONE thing I truly miss is the three Custom Shoot Sets that Sony offers (and I'd take more of this invaluable tool); Nikon offers only one. I exhort you to contact Nikon to...
I believe a Z-9 is as good a pro camera as any. After having it for over a year, I know the menu and settings inside and out. Thanks to Steve Perry initially and then lots of perseverance. It's worth it. It's a great tool if you know how to use it and the combinations and creative choices one...
I recently sent my 750 in for premium maintenance WITH a body cap, no battery, no strap and it had a shutter count of around 75k ish.
I got back a 750 without a body cap, WITH a battery, WITH a strap and a shutter count of 11k ish… a 50mm 1.8g was included too.
This new 750 has a different...
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Nikon Z9 and excitedly updated it to the 4.0 version of the software. That's the most up-to-date as far as I'm aware. I've had it "freeze" on me twice so far, which I'm not too concerned about (maybe I should be).
But I've noticed a bug on a few different...
Has anyone heard if Nikon will be addressing the overheating issue in camera shooting mode? I experienced this (yes it was hot outside), but only taking small bursts of like 5pfs maybe 10fps. And not for like 10 or 20 at a time.
I am going to Lake Clark in Alaska and dealing with equipment travel limitations weight limits on small planes as well as my desire to get the best, sharpest photos of bears possible.
I am a dedicated prime lens photographer whose go-to equipment is a Z9 and 800mm PF and previously a 600mm...
Hello, as per the title I'm deciding on my next move in equipment, I'm currently "in-between" my big lens, and as I am relatively new and don't have an endless pocket I can only really afford upgrades far apart. My setup was a D500 and an older 500mm prime, but as the big lens has been returned...
I’m currently a Canon shooter but I’m not particularly happy with the camera and lenses for wildlife. I have a R6 mark II, RF 100-500, 1.4 extender, and 800 f11. I’m looking for a stacked sensor, higher mp, and better glass, so Nikon sounds like a a good choice, particularly with the...
Hi, been searching this topic and I know that there is no "right answer" but wanted to hear from those experienced in Safari in Botswana what worked for them best.
I own a Z9 + 500PF + TC1.4 III, Nikkor 105 2.8 Micro, Nikkor 20mm 1.8 as well as a D850 (and 70-300 DX lens which I'm not thrilled...
Beware - this a speculative post ;):) .... One gap in the telephoto options of Nikon's Greater Ecosystem is a super telephoto zoom [chart / map appended for comparisons]. Yes, there's the roadmapped 200-600 in Z-mount but as it stands it's not a S Line optic, so we have zero clue about its...
