Thanks Kirk... I think marten's are adorable... viscous and adorableBeautiful image and creature, good job.
Thank you WayneI'm pleased to see that your patience and persistence paid off, and handsomely so, for you.
Thanks Charles... just a reminder to not give in to the temptation to walk away.SUPER! Congrats, and I admire your determination.
Thank you JaapL...Beautiful images and creature, Bruce. well done! Certainly worth the wait. Thanks for the story behind it. May 2024 bring you more opportunities!
Thanks GeorgeSuperb set Bruce!!
Thank you ... Martens are in the family Mustelidae. The mustelids include wolverines, fishers, martens, mink, weasels, skunk, badger, otters, and ferrets. There are a few lesser know species that may fall under the mustelid group, but that's up for a bit of debate. Anyway, if you do genetic comparisons, martens slot somewhere between ferrets and fishers.Great captures; are these similar to wolverines?
Thank you very muchFantastic! Nice work.
Thank you... love the quote, as it is so very true!Excellent!
"Luck" is when preparation and persistence meet!
Thank you Steve... As you can imagine, I was very excited by the opportunity to see this species... photographing it with this type of clarity was a huge bonus for me!Just fantastic!
That final shot is worthy of the ID field guide!Thank you Steve... As you can imagine, I was very excited by the opportunity to see this species... photographing it with this type of clarity was a huge bonus for me!
Thank you... never say never. If you spend enough time outside, you'll be surprised by the things you may encounter.Truly amazing images of a species I don't expect to ever see in the wild myself.
Thanks... The last shot is almost the one I wanted. While I am an ecologist and consider myself a natural historian, I am always looking for something more than a "natural history shot." I was really hoping the little guy would give me a look w/ both eyes, but he only stood there for a millisecond... As we all know, wildlife are not models and you get what you getThat final shot is worthy of the ID field guide!
Thank you Peter!Good things come to those that wait, lovely set of shots
Thanks Woody...All things come to those who wait. Well done. You have much more patience than I do, but it was obviously worth the wait.
Thank you DavidWell done Bruce, great shots -- patience and persistence are usually well rewarded!
