Glad you liked it. Seems the people that make the videos were laid off because of covid. That video was both hysterical and sort of mean-spirited at the same time! A great laugh in the morning with my cup of tea.
If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

Sounds like Fred Miranda Nikon forum I left, when it went down the brandwar plughole a couple of years ago....unfortunate but the dedicated lens threads are still there. This is my main go-to site every morning with coffee or tea and I pop in throughout the day if I'm working at the computer. I did join Ugly Hedgehog a few years ago...I do not recommend that site to anyone unless you just want a laugh. There's a couple of people who feel that they own the site and they are overbearing, everybody else just seems to be very confused or very uninformed.
I keep up on Ugly Hedgehog and have received help from members. What are some of your favorite photography websites, general and/or specific? I'm curious to see what other photographers use as inspirational/learning resources (BCG is one, of course). Thanks!
April
Spend all my time here as agree with what a few have said already in that I find it less argumentative than other sites.Youtube: Thomas Heaton (UK landscape photographer), Brad Hill (Canadian wildlife), Moose Peterson. Occasionally: Josh Jackson (street), Morten Hilmer (wildlife). On gear: Them Hogan, Lenstip, Christopher Frost, Park Cameras, Dustin Abbott
I avoid forums other than this one which is graced by the presence of adults![]()
That’s Julianne Kost. Agree, excellent.I interact here 99% of the time, as this is an interesting site, good photos and good info. No other FORUMS - but plenty other things for info and inspiration.
And I am always looking for something new
I do a LOT of YouTube - Mostly it is on post processing. The amount of info, tips, tricks, inspiration is endless.
Benny productions- if you want to be freaked out by skill
Jesus Ramirez
Aaron Nace Phlearn
Matt Kloskowski
Adobe Live
Photoshop Cafe
Morten Hilmer
Julieanna Cost - her workshops are WAY above average
Fototripper (landscape sitcom)
and plenty more. You can clearly see I don't own a TV

see my post #6 for some photoshop YouTube channelsI mostly visit on-line sites when I am interested in lens or camera upgrades or articles on wildlife photography techniques. Outside of this group, I have come to avoid the other forums. Many strong opinions, very limited experience. The sites I visit most oftem are:
Brad Hill Nature Art Voice (his blog)
Photography Life particularly articles by Spencer Cox
Tom Hogan Z System User both the blog and reviews although my conclusions often differ.
I typically avoid YouTube because it consumes so much time compared to the useful information, except for Steve's videos. I especially enjoy the new short format videos.
I would love to find forums or sources on posst processing. It seems to be evolving much faster than cameras and lenses right now.
Oh that is a VERY cute puppy! Thanks for the post Elsa. On behalf of Obie and myself we both appreciate your recognition of the failure of Nikon to provide updates for shoulder bags and what's more their refusal to provide instruction manuals on line for their range of lens caps.

I was on 500 PX for a while i find that people are often to nice and polite and say, well done, great shot, Love it, and all that stuff, when A) its true, or B) when its crap, so one doesn't learn from anything, we get it in our club often and we discourage it, we ask people to be open blunt but constructive, sadly on line that doesn't get you likes, or followers if you speak your mind respectfully.I was into 500px.com pretty deeply a few years ago, my account is still active. The downside is you really have to create a following to get good scores the comments are nice, but not very constructive, for that you have to read between the lines. I learned a lot about the art of photography and came to appreciate good photography. I feel my time was pretty well spent. Now BCG is my my main place to learn.
I agree with you, before 500px for there was Photosig (they went off line several years ago) , the people there were very honest in telling what they like and dislike. It was a great learning experience for me though, sometimes, not too enjoyable. Sadly we all can't all accept honest constructive criticism, especially from those we feel know less than we know, although it could be a learning experience if we let it.I was on 500 PX for a while i find that people are often to nice and polite and say, well done, great shot, Love it, and all that stuff, when A) its true, or B) when its crap, so one doesn't learn from anything, we get it in our club often and we discourage it, we ask people to be open blunt but constructive, sadly on line that doesn't get you likes, or followers if you speak your mind respectfully.
Only an opinion
