Some of my favourites from this year. Looking back I feel very lucky that I had opportunities to spend time with such a variety of wildlife in different locations.
One of my favourite winter pastimes is spending hours watching short-eared owls:
I spring the damselflies emerge from a pond a few hundred yards from my house:
I spent a good deal of the spring involved in a project to help curlews nest successfully in my area of lowland central England:
Bees in the front garden on a sunny day provide an excuse to waste some time!
I was very lucky to snorkel with amnat rays in the Maldives:
Photographing pumas in Patagonia had been a long held ambition:
A trip to the Kruger with my adult son who lives in Austaralia was a great end to my photography year:

Well after scouring through this year's images it appears that the species of the year fro me is the American Kestrel, never get tired of photographing them.
