Fabulous. Full crop, uber aggressive and one glance you just know to keep clear. Technical question – why is everyone else’s raptor shots so much better than mine? Love the snake eagle. I remember the first time I saw one through binocs. The eyes just nail you to the spot.
Stunning series callieGuys, splendid images all of birds we all seem to love and that we all would like to shoot!
Peter, your Bat Hawk is more than 30 years on my list, and it is still on my list!
We have 54 raptors, 16 Falcon, 1 Secretary bird and 12 owl species recorded in Southern Africa as well as the osprey. Many still on my wish list.
Here is one of my favorites - the Lapped-faced vulture

An owl lover Carl. Beautiful shots. I’ve never seen a snowy but they’re stunning and I suspect a real exposure challenge. The kind fellow paying for us to have this chat has a splendid shot if I remember.Snowy owl. Bubo scandiacus. Ontario, Canada.View attachment 12111
Beautiful John, and that eye catches the attention. So much better behaved than the white backs, but your fellow need to watch where he roosts. Definitely under another vulture last night and skipped his shower in the morning.Ruppells Vulture (Gyps ruepelli), KenyaView attachment 12115
