Stunning shots. I'm waiting for the Lammergeier to turn up. I've heard of this place as the place to go. From these shots it sounds worthwhile for a special trip.

Peter ~ You book the hide for about R800/day. Three people can use it at the same time. Winter time is best but it is VERY popular and overbooked. Best to try and go together with someone, if possible. The Giant's Castle NR chalets are reasonable and you can eat there to. The road (last part) to the park sucks with plenty potholes, but you should know how to dodge them.

Our smallest raptor, about sparrow sized, but more robust. I think there is an Aisian or Chinise pygmy too that is just smaller or about the same size. Kgalagadi Transfrontier park and Mokala NP.

Fabulous. Full crop, uber aggressive and one glance you just know to keep clear. Technical question – why is everyone else’s raptor shots so much better than mine? Love the snake eagle. I remember the first time I saw one through binocs. The eyes just nail you to the spot.
Thanks. Speaking for myself, I found that the closer one gets to the animal the better the image. The more one crops the more you lose image quality.
