Consumer attitiude is changing, Nikon knows this which is why the Z9 had seen so many updates, these then ported themselves to the Z8 (hence the lower version number) as far as I can tell Nikon is the only camera manufacturer to have committed so much time and effort ,at their cost, to a camera system.

I think having the unified expeed 7 hardware really helps with that as you can port the new features as they're developed into multiple cameras probably significantly easier. I rather they stick with that model and we see them continuously develop and update a flagship and those features then end up in the sub models down the lineup with less expensive sensors.

I think they should have put auto capture in the Z50ii though as people would probably buy them solely as a camera trap and maybe more than one for that purpose. Maybe with a weather sealed battery pack option.
