Are these gray market cameras?Greentoe you can get an a9III under $4500.
If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I bought my brand new 300GM there for $5,100. Someone else got one a week later for $5k. Same USA dealer. That price is delivered and no sales tax. Arrived at my door 2 days later.I have never heard of green toe but getting down to that price the A93 is even tempting to me lol
Nope full USA warrantyAre these gray market cameras?
Nope full USA warran
I’d say what store but greentoe asks that you don’t discuss that on the open forums. Are these gray market cameras?
I don’t think the a9III is the camera for you. Unless you shoot high frame rates the a1 is now the better choice with the mk2 version.I have never heard of green toe but getting down to that price the A93 is even tempting to me lol
Yeah I might keep an eye out on green toe lol. All of those things you mention I have in the A7RV already but obviously it’s far slower. The A1-2 would definitely be a better all rounder than all of their other cameras at this stage. I really want to see how others feel about this new version after putting in some time with it.I don’t think the a9III is the camera for you. I’m sure the new a1 firmware has impacted your af but I also suspect you compare with the more updated af systems of your other cameras. I know for a fact if you shot an a9III you’d probably think your a1 is really crap with the impacts the bad firmware has had on your camera.
I do however think the new a1mk2 would be a good fit for you. You get the more advanced af, the other features like the rear screen, photo stacking, insect af, eye af for birds etc in video and then what you don’t get which is pre capture. If you don’t shoot even 20fps than the a1mk2 will be of no handy cap to you.
I feel like the a1mk2 is actually the camera you have wanted for the last couple of years but had hoped you would get it with firmware. That ship has sailed. Right or wrong the current a1 other than bug fixes is no longer getting updates.
I think if you got the new one you would be very happy and give you what you have wanted that lead you to buy other bodies. Just my 2 cents.
Smart. Would you have bought an a7r5 if your a1 had all those features?Yeah I might keep an eye out on green toe lol. No absolutely not. I was very content having the pair of A1’s but really missed the focus bracketing, animal eye af/video and articulating screen.Smart. Would you have bought an a7r5 if your a1 had all those features?
I’m ordering one in the morning and tagging my pro support on it so I suspect I’ll have one on launch day. I did with the original a1 and didn’t have pro support. Fingers crossed.
Now I need to figure out a trip to test it in December. Not much going on around here in December.
Yup, as much as it sucks you’re forced into the new a1 it’s the camera you should own. It’s just money after all!No absolutely not. I was very content having the pair of A1’s but really missed the focus bracketing, animal eye af/video and articulating screen.
If they do in fact have one at a lower price on that site then I might entertain it in a couple months but would sell one of the three bodies I have now beforehand. Sure as hell don’t need four lol. It’s still hard not to be pissed about the updates no matter what lol. The autofocus is pretty incredible on the RV and I can’t imagine having that coupled with a faster frame rate. Looks like it has the same viewfinder as the RVSmart. Would you have bought an a7r5 if your a1 had all those features?

BTW you’re a bad influenceYup, as much as it sucks you’re forced into the new a1 it’s the camera you should own. It’s just money after all!
You are not the first person to tell me that lol. I blame it all on Steve.BTW you’re a bad influence
It’s funny yesterday I stopped in Roberts camera which is a pretty great crack dealer in Indy. Saw the Z9 in the case, been a while since I’ve seen one and all I could think is damn it’s huge. I’d sure love to have a 600 TC but no way I’m going back to a big clunky camera that’s less capable. So my new hope is we get a 600GM TC in the next few years. Until then I’m more than set on gear. Will be nice to let the pocket book take a breath.BTW you’re a bad influence
Nope, you gonna need pre-capture or a lowly OM-1 photographer is going to get cooler action shots than you can. How can you let that happen? I had to log all my bodies and glass for Sony and put purchase dates which wasn’t to hard but damn 2021 was one expensive year lol.
Sadly no. Sony is CFE-A. I would say if you are starting from scratch buy the new 4.0 cards. Some reports are a very small improvement on catch clearing but more importantly downloading to your computer is close to 3 times faster. Angelbird just dropped their new cards and same price as the slower ones so great value. It also helps future proof your purchase.for all my Sony shooters... are there any bodies that use CF Express B?
before I offload all of my cards, I just wanna make sure.
looking at the A9 III / A1 II an unexpected benefit is the CFA card slots that can also use SD cards, which will be excellent for astro shooting. I can keep the old, slow cards separate from the new fast ones - and come home from a trip with all my images separated nicely
Well I committed but I’ve got an a9III so checkmate your 50fps with 120!Nope, you gonna need pre-capture or a lowly OM-1 photographer is going to get cooler action shots than you can. How can you let that happen? (It's only money/)
It doesn't reach 30 but others say it is between 25-28. I never use Tracking for action/BIF so I've never concerned myself with that and totally forgot it was even a thing.
