Hi photo experts. I tried to get the elephant silhouette against the African sun. Stay over/under exposed. I Tried everything. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance.

Can you see his image ? And he wants to get a silhouette.....which requires under-exposing.....You probably need an HDR image. High Dynamic Range.
part of your image is very bright, so your camera will under expose … so the part in shadow can’t be seen. Part of you image will be dark, so your camera will overexpose, blowing out the lighter / brighter parts of your image, HDR blends both.
