For those that have both cameras, which one do you use most of the time and why. Since the firmware updates are bringing them closer together in features, there are mainly hardware differences (GPS, battery, etc.).

Did you mean to ask, Z9 and Z8?For those that have both cameras, which one do you use most of the time and why. Since the firmware updates are bringing them closer together in features, there are mainly hardware differences (GPS, battery, etc.).
Yes, thank youDid you mean to ask, Z9 and Z8?
Wait, are you saying the Z8 and Z9 have different buffer sizes? I thought they were identical in that respect, and that performance would be the same when writing to identical memory cards. Can you provide a link where this is stated, so I can read up on it?For wildlife in motion, I find the Z9 superior because of its larger buffer. It’s also better balanced with long lenses. And, battery life is better.
The Z8 is a fine camera, though.
They both have the same buffer size when writing to one card. When two cards are involved the z9 is better because it has two cf cards. For wildlife in motion, I find the Z9 superior because of its larger buffer. It’s also better balanced with long lenses. And, battery life is better.

I apologize, I should have written number of shots on a full battery charge.Wait, are you saying the Z8 and Z9 have different buffer sizes?
Your choice is based on the use case, same as me. In addition to what you have mentioned, the Z8 is my choice for a hike or a city walk around based on its size, weight, and typically being paired with a general purpose lens such as the 24-120 F4 of 14-30 F4. The Z9 is my choice for performances because I don't need to worry about pausing for a battery change.I own and use both the Z9 and Z8. For long lenses (400TC, 800PF and 180-600) I prefer the Z9 for its bigger battery and vertical grip. For landscape and macro work, I prefer the Z8 for its smaller size. Both are great camera bodies (for me) and each backs up the other one. On long trips I try to take both bodies. In the distant DSLR past, I’ve had camera bodies fail while on an expensive trip - always good to have a backup IMHO.
The Z9 is defiantly better for pro reasons and applications but for walking a lot, hiking, traveling, and other subjects like street photography etc the Z8 is better, also the Z8 is easier to resell, most people with the Z9 if they have any complaints its to big and heavy. For those that have both cameras, which one do you use most of the time and why.
