He didn't mention it and I forgot to point it out, but it also has a QD socket...another plus?Very helpful video (except for the focus issues). This sold me and I will order one when I get a Z8.

Since one has to buy this on eBay I would order it now and you might have it when your Z8 arrives?Very helpful video (except for the focus issues). This sold me and I will order one when I get a Z8.
I ordered mine on May 25 and scehduled for delivery on Sunday, May 5.Since one has to buy this on eBay I would order it now and you might have it when your Z8 arrives?
Oops! June 5.??? pls check dates
Tried my RRS Z7/Z6 (fits original and II models) modular L bracket on my Z8. Does not work on the Z8. The pin (separate from screw and I assume meant to limit twisting) does not fit in the right place, given where the screw must go. Even if I filed this pin off (which I’m not going to do), the bracket would block the battery door.I have RRS brackets for my Z7II and Z6II. Given that the Kirk brackets fit on a Z8, I should try the RRS versions on my Z8.
i'm guessing it'll get here a lot faster than that, butLooked at the Smallrig L bracket for the Z8 on EBay. At checkout, it said it would not arrive until August 1st or 2nd. Not showing yet at B&H or Amazon.
It also shows on Smallrig’s own website, but you can’t buy it there unless you are a reseller.
I recently used is the Ssearch forums" facility - and found the thread in about 20 seconds - the facility worksFrom memory there was a thread that mentioned Smallrig had an L bracket for the Z8.

The Smallrig site when I looked recently listed only a cage that also went over the prism housing and not a specific L bracket.

What part is less rigid? Are you referring to the side piece or the whole thing? The Smallrig for the Z8 is now available from Amazon UK for £49.90.
I was initially quoted 8 days for delivery - though ordered late Friday and arrived Monday.
A "niggle" is no instructions in the box or on the website.
"Need to know" IMO includes the L bracket between the inner battery housing and lens mount can be hinged out to allow full access to the battery, and a smaller second screw on the L bracket base screws into a small screw hole on the Z8 - in addition to the main L bracket screw for a 1/4 inch thread.
It works OK but IMO is less rigid than the more expensive Smallrig Z9 L bracket.
IMO the whole thing. What part is less rigid? Are you referring to the side piece or the whole thing?
The design seems identical to the Smallrig - including a hinged battery release lever and an apparently detachable side component.I just saw this on the Leofoto web site: https://www.leofoto.com/products_detail.php?id=751
From the look of it, I'm not sure how rigid the vertical section will be,
