The first batch will go out one month after the annoucement, the 2nd and 3rd shipment will take forever though.

As Ricci points out at the end of the video, it is pretty sneaky to see that "8" hidden in the bottom right corner behind the last question mark.
If Ricci is correct about the PLAY icon then this may be a bit different camera than so many people on here are thinking??
Of course Ricci is just stringing us all along...I'm sure 6 inches off screen sits the Z8 on his desk.

I do expect to see more advanced video continue to come from the Nikon Z cameras. That's a stated strategy not only for Nikon, but for Facebook/Meta and Google/YouTube/Alphabet. For visual content creators, social media is driving video over stills.

What makes you think that, as compared to the Z9?
just because there have not been teaser video yet, does not mean that there will not be between now and May 10
Funds from selling my A1/200-600 are burning a hole in my pocket. Hope I don't regret that move :(
Don't think so unless a new purchase is time critical.
It is somewhat time sensitive. I was counting on having a Nikon product that can serve as backup to the Z9 in time for a remote bear shoot in August. Hoping it doesn't have to be a second Z9. :(

Oh this is a teaser in its right, but as he says more subtle. Nikon might well fan the gas flames with more snippets.
These could be parallel to, or involve a leak or more over the next 2 weeks.....

I’ve been waiting since Z7ii firmware improvements failed to deliver on autofocus, so it’s not long to wait.

We do not know this.
Nikon seems to be learning from supply issues - having perhaps doubled the 800mm PF production.
The perhaps deferred announcement could be because Nikon is building up stock prior to the eventual launch.
Without a specification "we" cannot provide our estimate of demand.
