Lens Foot of 180-600

Patrick, do you have both screws attached? If so, are you using a reducer on the 3/8 hole to accommodate the second 1/4 screw?
Yes - I have a reducer in the 3/8"

Hi
If you were to get a new plate for this, would you go for a 6” or 4.5”.
Ta
Not sure who addressed to but 6" is what I would get if I had to buy a new one. For me hand holding and balance on BR strap longer is better if it does not get in the way of the body or the reversed hood and it does not. If someone had it on a tripod longer should also give more options with body, tripod head etc..

Has anyone tried this…
Haven't tried it. They make good stuff so have no doubt the quality will be good. Looks overly complicated. Of course it's a generic solution and not purpose built for this particular lens. I'm not making any moves until RRS/Kirk/Hejnar have a chance to get their products to market. In the interim will get by with my existing inventory of arca swiss plates collected over the years.

I don’t think it works as the rotating mount attaches to the camera, not the lens, making the lens mount take the weight of the lens rather than the lens taking the weight of the cameras it would using the lens foot.

Received and attached the the Kirk-360-2NL lens plate yesterday. Thanks for the tip @Patrick M! I really like that it attaches to the Nikon foot with 2 screws. However, a 3/8 to 1/4 reducer must be used on the Nikon foot, as both screws on the 360 are 1/4". Both the z9 and z8 balance perfectly on the Wimberley-200. An added bonus is the slightly added overall length makes holding the lens by the foot seem a bit more comfortable. The QD socket is also a welcomed addition!

Best place to get the 3/8-16 to 1/4-20 reducer? I'm going to check some of my equipment bags to see if I have one, but does it matter where you get it from? (Never dealt with this before.)

I have attached a lot of plates to very large lenses such as the 600 f/E over the years and have only used the single primary attachment screw and it always worked with no issue.

So I am puzzled why go through the hassle of getting an adapter and putting in a second screw?

Another point of stability and it reduces the likelihood of the base rotating.

I never had any issue with the plate rotating even back when I was using a wimberly gimbal head on a tripod. And the plates (Wimberly and Really Right Stuff) I used always fit tightly and they were on much heavier lenses than the Z180-600.

On the other hand since the 500 pf came out with the fall off foot I have replaced every lens foot with a Hejnar foot and only used plates temporarily until a replacement foot was available. That could change with this one since it is a foot and collar assembly and Hejnar has said he does not intend to make a replacement assembly for this lens.
