I’ve never seen or heard of this many kingfishers in a feeding frenzy at the same spot…..this was a great opportunity, well done all!

It is at a rest area at I-10 and I-25 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
It's about time you posted your Best of 2024 images! However considering your wide portfolio, I'll bet it took you a while to narrow the selection to just a few images! Great images!

LATE to a post (as usual), but I'll be even later for some landscape images. I have been somewhat amazed by the back-stories of so many of us old codgers as relayed in the "Ave age of BCG members" thread. So here are some images referred to in that thread. I'm actually surprised that I did have a few bird images this year.

Peregrin Falcon Composite. (I was looking at these 2 frames side by side and I thought a composite may look nice).
Peregrine Falcon Chicks. The one chick nearly knocked the other two off the ledge by exercising its incredibly long wings - no wonder they are SOO fast!
Red-necked Stints Feeding.
Red-necked Stints challenging each other.
Pacific Black Duck. My first session with a new groundpod that I got a year ago - then had 2 hip replacements to "clip my wings"! All good now.

I couldn't how to get the info directly after each photo, so here is the whole thing. All photos were taken with a Nikon Z9 and without exposure compensation. The collared aracari was in Costa Rica, where I spent a great week earlier this year; 600mm TC at 840mm, 1/4000, f/5.6, ISO 2000. The gadwall was taken in Washington, DC, with a 100-400mm and a 1.4 TC, 1/500, f/8. The sunbittern was taken in CR, 600mm TC at 840mm, 1/1600, f/6.3, ISO 4000. The speckled tanagers were in CR, 600mm TC at 600mm, 1/3200, f/8, ISO 8000. The hawk was in DC, 600mm TC at 600mm., 1/3200, f/5.6, ISO 20000. The eagle was in Virginia, 400mm TC at 400mm, 1/4000, f2/8, ISO 320.
