My favorites and my little contribution for this year 2024
Bravo to the series presented - Sorry for the all black and white but the light conditions near Paris have been dismal all year round

I really enjoyed your black and white processing. The fox cubs are off the cute scale. I wish I could see tone as you do. Tres bien!!

A few from home here in Michigan and a few from Alaska.

Probably my favorite image of the year and I used it on my Christmas cards:

I'm particulaly proud of this one. There is no masking and the light and shadows was created by two trees off the left. I laid there waiting for the sun to set, casting a shadow in front of and behind the owl. I was treated with the owl turning to face the sunset.

After many attemps over several days, finally able to capture a shot of a swallow:

I just love the colors and wing position:

A tough shot since it was after sunset, but certainly one of my favorites. Now the two babies are bigger and I get to watch them on my trail cam almost every night:

Superb shots, Marc!

My wife and I were at Point No Point County Park today on the north end of the Kitsap Peninsula (west side of Puget Sound) and two river otters were on a rock about 50 feet from shore. One decided to use the other as a headrest, and this became one of my favorite (and last) wildlife images of 2024.

Stunning images, Marc! Love the dark backgrounds and the action shots!

I take usually 7000 to 10000 photos a week year around. I live in the Klamath Basin of Oregon where the majority of the Pacific Flyway birds pass thru every year. My photos are mostly of waterbirds and the raptors that rely on them for food with an occasional squirrel, marmot, muskrat, beaver, coyote, antelope and deer thrown in. I shoot with a Nikon z9, 800z lens, and always use a 2x tc. The reach of 1600 is astonishing, but the higher iso and F13 limit are challenging. With Topaz, these are typical of the photos I can get – maybe not as perfectly sharp as some of you like, but I think better than not taking them at all. I keep a carefully curated record of the best of all the photos I have taken the last eight years.
