Post Your Best Wildlife Photos Of 2022

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

It is hard to pick just eight when I could have chosen that many just from our Kearney trip in April. However, I settled on this group for now.

Wonderful posts from 2022. I have had a pretty slow year regarding photography, but here are a few from this year.

I currently don't have access to the vast majority of my archives as I'm having trouble accessing my NAS setup (I"ll get it sorted) so in the meantime I'm gonna cheat a little with some of my faves from the 10 days or so...

I think my favorite image captured this year was with a camera trap set up. A lot goes into planning these shots in terms of mounting flashes, cameras and a sensor as well as picking flash location and power settings. Attaching everything to tree mounts and ground stakes in freezing weather is a challenge. I was really happy with this one where my batteries held their charges and my equipment didn't get buried in a pretty hefty January snow storm.

Pentax K3, three remote Nikon SB 28 flashes, Camptraptions sensor, transmitter and receivers

I was also happy with this Western wood-pewee during my initial trials with Pro-capture using the OM-1. It would have taken extreme luck to capture this pose without new technology.

Finally, I just like the dark mossy background with this black bear portrait in Alaska. OM-1

Wow, stunning photos from everyone over here! My humble collection for this year, approximately in crononological order. The last six were taken with old "heavy metal" (no plastic fantastic) manual focus lenses.
