What’s your top five lenses

my wife shoots too .

she uses the nikon z 28-400mm and the 180-600mm plus also a 105 macro .

we are looking into the. 100-400mm for her since at 400mm the 180-600 is f8 .

for travel the 180-600 is great but for the bronx zoo she needs something faster

let me tell you , when you need two of everything the amount of money we spend is insane .

we just spent 20k updating our cameras and lenses .

we had no adult supervision. ha ha
The Z180-600 is not f/8 wide open at any focal length ??

My wife is weight sensitive and does not like to change lenses so she sold her Z400 f4.5 and bought the Z28-400 for her Z7II.

Z 600mm PF (mainly birds)
Z 800mm PF (always birds)
Z 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 (birds, wildlife, landscapes)
Z 24-70 f/2.8 (landscapes)
Z 24-120 f/4 (walk-around)

rarely use Z 14-30 f/4, f-mount 300mm f/4 PF.

I have just sold of a heap of lenses and purchased the Nikon Z 600mm f4 TC VR S! :D Things have changed and so my list has changed from my previous list on page 2.

Most used. As I am mostly a bird photographer, the long primes and zooms get used most:
1) Nikon Z 600 f4 TC VR S
2) Nikon Z 600 PF
3) Nikon Z 180-600 f5.6-6.3
4) Nikon Z 135 Plena
5) Nikon Z 24-70 f2.8 S

In order of best IQ and desire to use because of that.
1) Nikon Z 135 Plena
2) Nikon Z 50 f1.2
3) Nikon Z 85 f1.2
4) Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR S
5) Nikon 600mm f4 TC VR S

Honourable mentions due to either excellent IQ or much use or both:
Nikon Z 14-24 f2.8S
Nikon Z 100-400 f4.5-5.6 VR S

If we talk about current lenses I really only shoot 3 so those for now are:
Sony:
1) 300GM
2) 600GM
3) 100-400GM
For the rest I have EF glass adapted for wider shots which I use maybe once a year at best.

But I've been thinking lately about my top favourite lenses of all time...I think it would go something like this:
1) Sony 300GM
2) Canon EF 400DOII
3) Nikon 500PF
4) Sony 600GM
5) Canon EF 600 IS II

I'm sure if I had it the Z600PF would be in that list.

All time favorites:

1) Fujifilm XF 35 f/1.4
2) Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L
3) Nikon 500PF
4) Nikon 600PF
5) Canon EF 100-400 II

Picked these based on the impact they've had on my photography, ones that I've taken my most favorite shots with, or that I've had the most fun using. I still own two on that list (#1 and #4), which were a natural evolution/progression from #2 and #3. #5 is most sentimental, as it was the lens that started me into birding.

Hmm. I need to keep better track of what I most often use.

1. a toss-up between Z600f4 TC & Z800f6.3, depending on available light and whether I want to tote a 7# or 5# lens.
2. Z180-600 5.6-6.3
3. Z100-400 -- superior versatility
