From last Jan. A ruddy turnstone and a willet waiting for Florida's winter snow. (they may be waiting awhile) 
Excellent! The first bird, owl and deer were all shot w/12mp D2X! we don’t have to chase megapixels…

Interesting. The ruddy is in mid-stride and includes the willet. The willet is reportedly on a watch list here in Virginia as endangered…..From last Jan. A ruddy turnstone and a willet waiting for Florida's winter snow. (they may be waiting awhile)

I wonder if eagles ever hurt themselves hitting hard ice in an attempt to get a fish they see under the ice.Some more winter

I am so glad you asked that question K9Kirk! The same morning the other batch of eagles had a “skating party” a fledgling eagle landed on the ice having seen a fish. He started jumping up and down trying to get through the ice. He couldn’t break the ice but kept trying… My wife and I were laughing so hard I could not set up decent shots…. But here they are anyway….I wonder if eagles ever hurt themselves hitting hard ice in an attempt to get a fish they see under the ice.

I suspected that. I used to work at a place where the finches would fly into a huge glass window to get to a tree in the lobby. I left before they took the tree out and I hope they did take it out, a lot of finches were dying over it.I am so glad you asked that question K9Kirk!
