Interesting to hear more reports from someone who ordered from B&H. I've been hearing rumors that B&H customer service is claiming they will be fulfilling all of their 4,000 preorders on Dec. 24. It looks like you got a completely different answer. I think B&H might have a customer service mess to clean up in a few days.Update from B&H They are charging my payboo card and shipping my FTZ II adapter and Delkin Black CFexpress B card. They have been told by Nikon to expect another shipment on 12-27 and to check back on 12-28 or 12-29 if my order has not been updated. They are still "hoping" to ship my order by 1-6-22 or sooner. I am not holding my breath but at least I have an FTZ II on the way.
The rumors I've heard have them claiming to fill all their preorders by mid-January, same as they told Ken.Interesting to hear more reports from someone who ordered from B&H. As far as I know, NPS orders will be filled by mid-Jan, but I haven't heard anything about non-NPS. I've been following a thread on DPReview about multiple people claiming the same response from BH Customer service, so who knows. Here's a link to the thread if you want to read what they are claiming. There are a large amount of people on DPReview forums who now think they are getting their Z9 this year, regardless of NPS status. The rumors I've heard have them claiming to fill all their preorders by mid-January, same as they told Ken.
I heard that rumor long ago and never had B&H tell me that so not sure where it came from. Kind of questionable since he did not give the correct date from the B&H letterAs far as I know, NPS orders will be filled by mid-Jan, but I haven't heard anything about non-NPS. I had previously told them not to ship until they had all 4 items I ordered. My oder has shown the Delkin black cards as a "new order" and everything else as backorder until last night when it showed the adapter as a "new order". I called today to change the do not ship until all available to ship as available and that is when my payboo card was charged for the delkin card (only ordered one since I got another one on a sale) and the FTZ II adapter as they started it on the shipping process. I made the change because the only thing B&H did not have a shipping estimate on was the spare battery and I did not want the camera held up waiting for that. Not NPS - I ordered early at B&H when they opened at 8:00 AM , email receipt stamped at 8:03AM.
The FTZ shipped today, the cards shipped when I ordered.
Z9 shows Delivery Estimate Pending
I now have ProGrade Digital 325GB CFEXPRESS 2.0 MEMCARD - 2-PACK plus the FTZ arriving tomorrow.
Seems ass-backwards but hopeful.
That is probably a good call. I heard the batteries are in very short supply and will be more difficult to get than the cameras.I had previously told them not to ship until they had all 4 items I ordered. I ordered a spare battery on a separate order. That shows as Backordered at B&H. Since I ordered fairly early I am hopeful the wait is not too long for the Z9.I had previously told them not to ship until they had all 4 items I ordered. I agree, it's wishful thinking at best. It's just odd that multiple people confirmed that BH told them specifically they have 4000 Z9's ready to go out the door on 12/24. That tells me either BH has wrong information or someone at customer service is lying to people. It's gonna be interesting to see here in a couple days how many orders go out at BHKind of questionable since he did not give the correct date from the B&H letter
Other parts of this video seemed like he may have had wishful thinking ... not he said he ordered it on November 15th I orderd on 10-28 and I have communicated with them via e mail and on the phone and have not heard anything about how many orders they had or shipping all of them by 12-24.
- Your current Payboo® Card, issued by Synchrony Bank, will be valid for use with the “Save the Tax” instant benefit until January 17, 2022
- You will receive a notice from Synchrony Bank soon stating that your current Payboo® Card will no longer be usable for new B&H purchases after January 17, 2022. (Please continue to manage your current account and pay off any outstanding balances in accordance with the terms and conditions)
That has been the past pattern on the batteries. I have a spare 18 c from my d6 and 3 spare 18a's from D4S and D500 and D850 battery gripsThat is probably a good call. I heard the batteries are in very short supply and will be more difficult to get than the cameras.
The previous "rumors" I heard related to 12-24 orders were that those were NPS orders only. The rumor mill has been all over the ball park. I will start getting ready for delivery when my payboo card is charged and I get a shipping tracking numberI agree, it's wishful thinking at best. The estimates for Nikon's production on the Z9 have been around 3500 per month. If they started producing in August, then that suggests a maximum global supply of about 18000 Z9s. It is hard to believe that B&H could be allocated over 20% of the global supply.I agree, it's wishful thinking at best. I completely agree. It just makes statements from BH customer service kinda weird. The estimates for Nikon's production on the Z9 have been around 3500 per month. I absolutley expected that would be the case. As well as prioritizing NPS members' orders. As much as I really want my Z9,...yesterday!, I have to admit that maybe Nikon learned a lesson from their past neglect of their professionals. As I remember, Nikon got stingy with support to their professionals to save money years ago, and Canon exploited the lack of support by Nikon to get a lot of pros to switch systems. There was a story going around about a Nikon pro who was turned away for help (a loaner lens) at an event who was loaned a full compliment of gear by Canon for the event, and that Nikon pro became a former Nikon pro immediately afterwards. Lesser efforts by Canon also converted many others. I can't say I blame any of them for switching. Then again, it's really NOMB what another shoots with.Nikon Ambassadors have already got their Z9s (Joe McNally, Dixie Dixon).
I don’t think B&H is receiving enough cameras to cover all orders initially. Most of the first two shipments from Nikon are NPS, but they are trying to get them out as quickly as possible. For non nps, it is going to be more so later in January. I’m very skeptical of the claim too.I was told by B&H 2 weeks ago that all pre orders would be shipped and the status would change after a set number was reached. They were adamant with that answer. Perhaps this guy is right even though I’m very skeptical.
Yeah I agree but I’m just stating what the guy told me. I have zero faith of getting the camera anytime soon lol. He said the status would change from preorder to back order once the threshold was met. It is really strange that he basically told me the same thing this guy produced two weeks from that point. Perhaps Nikon will surprise us. Honestly I don’t think anyone has a clue what Nikon is going to do at this point lol.I don’t think B&H is receiving enough cameras to cover all orders initially. Honestly, there are probably so many people calling about the Z9 that BH is just telling people a date on the calendar to stop the phones ringing lolYeah I agree but I’m just stating what the guy told me.
