I've recently pre-ordered the Nikon 7Zii via NPS with the new battery grip. It seems the 1/4" thread on the adapter would not be an option to place a temporary tripod mounting plate as it seems the grip will get in the way. Really Right Stuff does not have a plate at this time for the battery...
