Safari for me is not about the big 5 but all other animals around them and I was happy to have shot a, for me, new specie, the pangani longclaw.
Shot in Serengeti, Tanzania, shortly after a rain shower.
A cousin from the, for me. more familiar Burchell's coucal (aka rainbird) that I know from seeing in Kruger.
This one was photographed in the Serengeti, Tanzania last November.
My beloved d850 has a big brother after 5 years. The Z9.
As a D850 fanboy (and in general a Nikon Fan Boy) I have to admit that I have to throw all my prejudices against mirrorless cameras overboard.
The Z9 feels just as good in the hand as the D850 with battery grip and makes the same solid...
I had the opportunity to photograph snowy owls in different situations and on one of those moments got the tip from my photography buddy to try out a slower shutter speed.
So, here the outcome from shooting at 1/100s with the obvious wing movement.
So have my new Nikon Z9 which I'm quickly settling into becoming a bit more familiar with it each and every day. Thanks Steve (and this forum) for the amazing informational assistance and support. At this point I'm beginning to get some thoughts on what new Z-mount lenses I might try to add...
Decided to finally part with what I still consider a very solid DSLR, the Nikon D850. Had an opportunity to trade on a nearly new Z9 (ever-so-slightly used). Have a fair amount of good F-mount glass to start with so will be getting the FTZ-II adapter to take full advantage of that. This new body...
I pulled my D7500 out over the weekend as I wanted a lighter weight camera to carry. I noticed that then I rotated both the command dial and the subcommand dial, the results were opposite of my Z9.
Front dial, rotating clockwise, meaning I'm turning the dial towards the outside of the camera...
Delta Wanderings – Beaver Tail Slap
It alludes me no more
Tail Slapping is a common behavior of both male and female Beavers when they sense danger, such as a predator or a human near their den, they smack the water with their large, flat tails to convey danger or aggression. This loud noise...
EDIT: Bought a Nikon battery
Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of good 3rd-party battery/dual charger brands? I'm looking for a spare battery for my Z9.
Or, is it just worth the extra 40-50% cost to buy first-party?
Thanks.
[EDITED] This appears to be new; Nikon has added since I downloaded the new Suppl Manual for Z9 FW 5.0 a few days ago
It's bit skint compared to @Steve 's books ;) However, it confirms yet again Nikon is branching out from a central emphasis on designing products for Sports photography into...
Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to the Z9, coming off a Z7ii, Z6, D800, D300, etc. I used to be a card reader guy with all my digitals but I've recently moved over to using the Z9's ethernet port for my transfers. It seems easier, it's automated, and it helps to minimize/eliminate the wear and...
I am not experienced at all when it comes to shooting with flashes. I started, however, some trials with shooting night active animals and I am using two remote flashes (Profoto). Would you mind sharing your experiences with the settings in the Z9 - or similar - as to exposure compensation (e3)...
One of the raptors I encounter the most in Kruger is the brown snake eagle.
Shot with the Z9 @840mm f/5.6 (thx for highlighting my typo) and ISO 8000 (denoise through LR). It was another grey day and brought the saturation up in the sky to get a bit of blue in it.
