Adobes future credit charges

This is all it says now

If it is in fact, a dollar a credit and I’m editing on average 600–1000 images a month then that is absolutely insane. I need to look further into it and see when that resets because something just doesn’t seem right to me. I might need to call them to get some clarification. There is one thing for sure, I will absolutely never ever pay one dollar per credit to use any tool in either of those programs.
When I Click through my plan, to buy credits, it appears they are about one half of a cent(US). You can subscribe to 2000 a month for 9.99, 7000 for 29.99 or, 50000 for 200 a month. Right now they are not charging. I saw generative remove is 1 credit. They are allowing unlimited use now, but it may slow down after you use your allotment. My account shows I have 100 left of 100 credits, and it resets on May 27, 2025.

I only use programs that I buy once, mainly DxO PureRaw and Photoshop Elements. I never signed up for the monthly subscriptions for Lightroom or Photoshop CC and never would even before seeing this. But now that I see this ridiculous new model I am further entrenched in my position.
Starting to feel the same. I’ve never been real keen on paying subscriptions, but since I use this so much, I just went along with it. I won’t get into a situation to where I have to monitor how much I use the software before being charged per month. that’s just not going to happen.

From what I’m reading on Adobe‘s website it looks like you have to purchase a firefly subscription to get more credits. From what I’m seeing, the cheapest one is 999 per month on top of 999 per month or whatever it is for the subscription.

Did you accidentally leave out a period? A thousand bucks a month seems like an awful lot! ;)

I think I see a plan for $10 for 2000 credits. Yes you need to figure out how you used your 250 credits.

I remain in the camp that Adobe is incredible value. What they do to improve the programs is well worth it. I used the new Landscape masking extensively already.
One other thing that is strange about it is it just tells you all 250 credits have been used and does not tell you how many have been used in total so I don’t know if I’m 251 or 1000

It’s sort of like buying a car with heated seats and having to pay a monthly fee to have the seats heat lol. it’s pretty much the same kind of concept
GM is already looking at ways to force users to more subscriptions within their cards. I think Tesla does something akin to that already. Subscriptions are just the way it goes these days.

I finally found my credits and it said I’ve used 5/100 for the month. But I believe an earlier poster is right. When your credits run out it doesn’t remove the ability. It just slows the response down and you aren’t prioritized. In real terms it probably is inconsequential.
Hopefully that is the case but it is definitely a very vague amount of information they produce about it

...in Lightroom classic there’s no way to change it from machine to cloud...
See the comment below. You can toggle generative AI(i.e. cloud) on/off. Without the cloud it is simply content aware. If you want the AI version it has to be connected to the cloud.

On my Lightroom Remove, there is a box to check, use generative AI. There is a ? next to it with link to Generative AI terms.
Do you have yours checked? This is the windows version and I know you have apple, but I would think they are the same.

So I did call Adobe and they did tell me that 95% of the credits I used were with a remove tool in Lightroom classic and advised me that any brush stroke is a credit. For instance, if you remove three dust spots and a small twig you just use four credits on one image. Moral of the story is, just use the standard remove tool on simple items and keep the more complex remove tool for situations that you can’t get a good result with the standard remove to is what they advise me to do. They had no insight or any kind of information on when the changes will go into effect that you would have to start purchasing these, but said the products would continue to work. I am wondering once this is implemented when you run out of credit, if it will still continue to work.

Last I checked if you used them up, you don’t get cut off, but it runs slower.
Didn’t know that! Thanks!

100%!

That’s just crazy and the only reason to do that is for them to make money- greed

Like a phone company not telling you how many minutes you used. They have a lot to learn

So...I went to my account and it says I have 100 out of 100 credits.

I used the remove tool when processing photos from my recent trip. Apparently I was not being charge credits for using the tool.

FWIW - I still use Content Aware Fill quite a lot. In many cases, I find it does a better job than the remove tool.

The "Remove" tool in LrC is a basic tool. It's not included in the Standard or Premium tools lists. Use of Remove shouldn't deplete credits.

I recommend contacting Adobe Support to request an accounting of the Standard or Premium tools which have been used, this month. They should include a date, time and file name associated with each usage.

I had left mine on generative fill for a while and honestly forgot about it but was under the assumption that adding something via generative fill was what used credits. A lot of times I just use the normal remove tool and use the other on content aware but I'll be more aware going forward. I mean, all I ever do is remove dust spots, trash or a small twig here and there.

It's because I left generative fill enabled by mistake. I still never got a clear answer on the remove tool in PS from adobe.
