Sony A1-2

Yeah...I have little hope but would love to see that it is actually 30FPS in all RAW formats now (A1 only in lossy) and then 40 or 60FPS in lossy compressed. Fine for me as I've used lossy compressed in every Sony camera just to get max FPS.
Another one of the things I like about the a9III is up to 120fps in any file format. No limitations like the a1 has.

Ignoring all the rumors except the reuse of the sensor I'd expect 40fps for all RAW formats. While processing from the A9III would suffice for 57fps, the chip is said to be limited to 250fps scan and 44fps frame rate.

Yup, 40 FPS would be sufficient to stop people from complaining :)
Otherwise it seems like it is a long overdue refresh of a camera with modern tech or modern features. More like A1s or A1a.

Agree that this is likely just an A1s or A1a...whatever. It is basically taking all the little features they've added to much less expensive cameras over the past 4 years and giving them to the A1 with nothing new for the A1.

Well there may be a couple small new things if we go off the latest SAR leaked review like newer IBIS than even the A9III/A7RV:

1) Stabilization
The Soy A1II will be the first camera with 8 stops stabilization + 8.5 stops “center stabilization”. There is also dynamic stabilization mode (obviously has cropping)

2) Pre Capture
precapture from 0,03 up to 1 secs (max 30 pre-shot in RAW)

3) Image Quality:
He claims the A1II has slightly improved image quality with better detail and more dynamic range (particularly in the highlight).

4) AI features:
Automatic Multi Subject Recognition Focusing

5) New tidbits:
during video shooting you can take 10 bit HEIF photos

Well it is exactly as rumoured. Basically just adding existing features into the A1.
It is what it is. Sort of sad they couldn't come up with a single new feature unique to their flagship.

Oh wait.....TWO eyepiece cups....that sold it for me!!

I think I’m going to be a hard pass, especially for four reasons.
1-no 8k60
2-no increase is frame rate
3-I already have two other bodies that have the AI chip and articulating screen so that’s not a big selling point for me.
4-it really chaps my a?? that they are not going to make any more effort with the current $6500 flagship to address some of the auto focus snafus that some of us are experiencing.
My wife and bank account will be very happy and I will continue using my current A1 until it malfunctions most likely. I never did see the price they’re asking for the generation to does anyone know that?

Well that was a bit of a snooze fest., I was hoping for a little bit more than what was presented given the time that has elapse since the original release of the A1. The upgrade decision has just become that more difficult for me. I really want the pre-capture feature that my A1 lacks but other than that there is no real compelling reason to upgrade for me personally. I was also disappointed that there was no mention of the V3.0 A1 firmware what happened to that?

Yeah, that’s a really sore point with me at this stage. I sincerely hope that was not just a rumor because they need to tweak the auto focus at least a little bit on the current A1
